Native Tree Give Away and Seed Bank Project
2023 Native Tree Seedling and Flower Seed Give-Away
This year the BRRAlliance is please to announce we will be giving away 100 native trees of two different species, Ninebark and Silky Dogwood, sourced from the Department of Environmental Conservation and funded through the generosity of the Paul & Helen Ellis Charitable Trust. We will also be distributing over five species of sunflower seeds totaling over 5,000 seeds through our 1000 Sunflower Project and over 1,000 seed packets of various native perennial and annual flower seeds through our Seed Bank Project. We are so excited to see all of the native, pollinator and bird friendly gardens that will bloom this spring as a result! Don’t forget to check the National Wildlife Federation Checklist to see if your garden can now be certified. Every garden helps us towards our goal of re-certifying Erie County and Buffalo as a National Wildlife Federation Community Wildlife Habitat which are currently the 6th and 16th largest such certified communities in the country. And if you live in Niagara County, your certification will help us reach our goal of creating a wildlife corridor along the western boarder of New York State! All seeds are completely free!
